Rebecca,
This past summer in Chile the kids produced their own tee shirts.
We tie dyed them and then spray painted a stencil.
It was a great activity, they loved it.
If you haven't already ordered the shirts.......just get white cotton tees and dyes. They made the stencil themselves and we used spray paint.
Love,
Mary

I have done a lot with tie dye and kids and have mixed dyes a lot, so if anyone needs help with that, I can do it, and also help with the supplies list. I know a few different tie dye designs that go a little beyond the simple spiral, including a heart, bulls eye, diamond...
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I'm also curious if it would be possible to look into some natural dyes that could be used. Maybe even tying it into connecting with nature by finding local berries, barks, plants in the area that the campers could collect and then use.
ReplyDeleteAny insights into this possiblity?
Hi Ada and Rosi,
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of tie dye and using natural dyes. Rachel Z is thinking about a tie dye intensive...maybe you all could collaborate!
That would be great! (my real name is sara, I forgot about the pseudonym when I posted...) I also know how to do batiking (using wax to make designs and dying the fabric) So that might be fun as well and could be involved in the dying intensive if you are interested
