Squirrels needed!
Hey yall! Chris here. Mike and I are teaching a hide tanning/primitive cooking intensive and we're going to need about 20 squirrels.. if any of you live in a state in which it's legal to kill squirrels in your yard, and you have a knack for/and/or enjoy hunting, any help would be great! Kind of a strange question, I know, but I figured I'd ask! If you get any, just chuck the whole thing in your freezer. Try for the head, we want as little holes in the hides as possible. Also keep in mind that kids will be around these so don't use your buck shot.. the less gruesome, the better :]

Making Movies
Hey all,
I'm set to teach a film production intensive, where we spend a week making a movie! If there's anyone that would like to help me out with it you're more than encouraged.

Latest Teen Camp News- E-mail
Dear Teen Camp Counselors, In just 5 weeks, we'll be sitting on zafus together under a big white tent gearing up for an incredible 4 weeks of Teen Camp. Attached to this e-mail is the rough draft to the first two weeks of the camp schedule. This is the rough draft so if you aren't leading all the activites that you'd like to be or if your name appears on the schedule way too much or not at all, just let me know and we'll change it. Optimally, you will teaching or assisting three activity periods per day. So please e-mail me if you'd like to assist or collaborate on classes or if you're over or under booked. There will be opportunity for final tuning of the schedule during Orientation Week, but we'd like to do as much as possible in advance. A few other things. Orientation begins on Sunday, July 12th. Feel free to begin arriving as early as 1pm at Omega Teen Camp and try to aim to arrive by 3pm so that you can get settled in and set to begin orientation at 5:30 pm in the Dining Hall. Please e-mail me your travel plans. We're happy to pick you up at the train station in Patterson which regularly runs from Grand Central. We will also pick-up at LaGuardia airport at 3:00pm on Sunday. If you fly into JFK, take a cab to Laguardia, and we'll pick you up. Orientation Week will be a lovely week of learning, collaborating, setting up, and play. Our programmed activities will end Thursday, July 16th about 10pm so if you need to go somewhere over the weekend, feel free. You are all invited to come to the Omega Institute for the weekend. We'll be camping, enjoying beautiful food, reduced price bodywork, and staff classes. We do have tents, but if you're driving and want to bring along a tent, it's probably nicer than ours so bring it. We'll leave for Omega after breakfast on Friday morning about 10 AM and will return to Teen Camp by 11AM on Sunday morning. And now a few words from Adam. "Hi, I just wanted to say something regarding our schedule. Personally I like to offer lot's of options. If we offer classes that no one signs up for it's not a big deal, we'll just cancel them. So I want to encourage you to try and lead whatever activities you have a passion for, regardless of whether you feel like an "expert" or highly qualified to teach. Teen camp is a great place to try things out, and strengthen your teaching skills, recognizing that it will be a learning process. One last thing, even though this e-mail is being sent from Adam's e-mail address, please send me your schedule comments to teencamp@eomega.org . Also, feel free to post on the blog at http://otc2009.blogspot.com/ Okay one more thing, please also send me your favorite songs with lyrics and guitar chords if you know them, so that I can compile them into a Teen Camp songbook and give them all to you at Orientation. Have a beautiful day. It's been thunderstorming here. The phones are dead and there's that eery softness of the pauses between downpours. Can't wait to meet all of you, Rebecca -- Omega Teen Camp "A Great Place To Be Exactly Who You Are" 150 Lake Drive Rhinebeck, NY 12572 845-266-4444 ext657 teencamp@eomega.org www.eomega.org -- Adam Simon Omega Teen Camp Director 150 Lake Drive Rhinebeck, New York 12572 800 944-1001 ext.228 www.omegateencamp.org -- 2 attachments — Download all attachments

Hi Rebecca, I just wanted to make sure you don't think I've forgotten to carefully plan my weeks at camp. I have been taking a summer class for my education masters and I am finishing the course today. From tomorrow foward, my attention will be focused on Omega. I am interested in facilitating dialogue circles about any topics meaningful to the campers- body image, fears, relationships, sexuality, frienship, trust- anything the campers want to discuss in a dialogue format. I am also interested in running song, dance, and movement activities. Those are a couple ideas but I will flesh them out more very soon. Thank you for the schedule and always keeping us up-to date! See you soon Samantha:) - Show quoted text - > Dear Teen Camp Counselors, > > > > In just 5 weeks, we'll be sitting on zafus together under a big white tent > gearing up for an incredible 4 weeks of Teen Camp. Lifeguard Certification
Hey,
We could use one more lifeguard at camp so if anyone wants to get trained or re-certified, we'll pay for your training.

Make a Profile
Good Morning Inspired Teen Camp Counselors,
A few things. Thanks for continuing to post your great ideas and for responding to each other's posts. In a few days, I'll put up the schedule for the first few weeks and you can continue to plan future collaborations. Second, if you fill out your profile on the blog site, we can learn a little more about each other which is fun. And third, if you will continue to post your ideas for songs and games for our staff manual, I'd really appreciate it. Feel free to e-mail me at anytime with questions.
Peace!
